Photos of the weekend #12 / still in Sydney (in my mind) – shots from a water taxi…

Here in Helsinki we have still winter…

we’re going to have more snow but sun’s shining!

Spring – where are you?!

I’ve been very unlucky the past week.

First I hurt my arm, got medication, arm got ok but

my stomach didn’t like the medicine – I’ve been in bed in fever most of the week…

This morning I feel better but still weak…

But let’s escape – Sydney shots from a water taxi…

still in Sydney – in my mind…

Monday, March 14th, 2011

The heart of the city center is busy, busy, busy

but you don’t need to walk long to find a park to sit and relax…

Sorry about the quality of the images but is was a grey,

partly rainy day when I shot these…

The Metro monorail is a single-loop Von Roll MkIII monorail in the city of Sydney,

Australia, that connects Darling Harbour, Chinatown

and the Sydney central business and shopping districts.

There are eight stations on 3.6 km of track, with four trains operating simultaneously.

20 x ANZAC Bridge in Sydney, Australia

Friday, March 11th, 2011

Photos of the weekend #10 / 20 x ANZAC Bridge in Sydney, Australia

Hi everyone!

Holiday in Sydney is over but I have a zillion pics to post.

Anzac bridge was huge and beautiful…I took several pics of it….

ANZAC Bridge was given its current name on Remembrance Day in 1998

to honour the memory of the soldiers of

the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC)

who served in World War I.

An Australian Flag flies atop the eastern pylon and

a New Zealand Flag flies atop the western pylon.

I took almost 2 000 pictures so naturally I have to show you a few of them :)

Sydney Circular Quay

Circular Quay is the hub of Sydney Harbour,

situated at a small inlet called Sydney Cove,

WIKIPEDIA:

“Bondi” or “Boondi” is an Aboriginal word meaning

water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over rocks.

The Australian Museum records that Bondi means place where a flight of nullas took place.
