Photos of the weekend #12 / still in Sydney (in my mind) – shots from a water taxi…
Here in Helsinki we have still winter…
we’re going to have more snow but sun’s shining!
Spring – where are you?!
I’ve been very unlucky the past week.
First I hurt my arm, got medication, arm got ok but
my stomach didn’t like the medicine – I’ve been in bed in fever most of the week…
This morning I feel better but still weak…
But let’s escape – Sydney shots from a water taxi…

Outdoor swimming pool…

This is a hotel…

Not enough shadows?

The heart of the city center is busy, busy, busy
but you don’t need to walk long to find a park to sit and relax…
Sorry about the quality of the images but is was a grey,
partly rainy day when I shot these…

The Metro monorail is a single-loop Von Roll MkIII monorail in the city of Sydney,
Australia, that connects Darling Harbour, Chinatown
and the Sydney central business and shopping districts.
There are eight stations on 3.6 km of track, with four trains operating simultaneously.

Hyde Park Sydney
The centrepiece of Hyde Park is the Archibald Fountain.
The fountain was designed by François Sicard and
donated by J.F. Archibald in 1932 in honour of Australia’s
contribution to World War I in France.

Fountain enlargement….

This will be a busy week.
Final packing and at the end of the week I’ll fly to Helsinki, Finland…
last time from Casablanca…

Photos of the weekend #10 / 20 x ANZAC Bridge in Sydney, Australia
Hi everyone!
Holiday in Sydney is over but I have a zillion pics to post.
Anzac bridge was huge and beautiful…I took several pics of it….
•
ANZAC Bridge was given its current name on Remembrance Day in 1998
to honour the memory of the soldiers of
the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC)
who served in World War I.

a New Zealand Flag flies atop the western pylon.

Sydney is a very beautiful city.
I took almost 2 000 pictures so naturally I have to show you a few of them
Sydney Circular Quay
Circular Quay is the hub of Sydney Harbour,
situated at a small inlet called Sydney Cove,
the founding site for Sydney and Australia.

Circular Quay’s history is very interesting, read in Wikipedia

We had a great, sunny day on Bondi beach on Saturday.
Here are a few shots – hope you enjoy.
More coming next week…

Bondi Beach is one of Australia’s most famous beaches and among the world’s most well-known beaches.
The beach is roughly a kilometre long and is patrolled by
lifesavers who make swimmers stay between the yellow and red flags.

WIKIPEDIA:
“Bondi” or “Boondi” is an Aboriginal word meaning
water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over rocks.
The Australian Museum records that Bondi means place where a flight of nullas took place.
