I can’t remember last time I’ve seen so much snow in Helsinki!
I shot a zillion pictures – here are a few of them.
These two pics were shot 19.12.2010
I wonder when this car will see daylight again…
I had a dinner at my mom’s home – it looked like it normally looks in Lapland!
It was beautiful and so QUIET!
Now I have to get used to our upstrair neighbour’s lifestyle again.
Early morning walking with high heels, kids playing and running,
cleaning lady pulling and pushing furniture…
Barking dogs, speeding vehicles, honk, honk, honk…
I try to think positive – only three months to suffer!

Atlantic Ocean – Casa, Morocco…
Fishes live in the sea, as men do a-land; the great ones eat up the little ones.
- William Shakespeare -
Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
- Kahlil Gibran -
We are tied to the ocean.
And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch -
we are going back from whence we came.
- John F. Kennedy -
Even Castles made of sand, fall into the sea, eventually.
- Jimi Hendrix -
With every drop of water you drink, every breath you take,
you’re connected to the sea.
No matter where on Earth you live.
- Sylvia Earle -

Casablanca, Morocco – daily life…
You remember I told you about the hot water tank and other issues here ?
On Saturday we got a new tank…
Emptying the old hot water tank…
On Sunday we had a walk in Casa downtown…
I shouldnt walk and shoot at the same time
I’m sorry but this is NOT a park for me…
I have a zillion espresso pictures
I’m sorry but I don’t like how people hang their property in their balconies…
We’re NOT sitting in our balcony – it’s not for that!
Here in Casa balconies are for hanging beddings and other stuff!
The view before anything hanging out from upstairs…

Be alert when walking in Casa, Morocco – all the time! This is not a joke!
Shot at midday so it’s very quiet…
Indicators are not used like in Europe.
You have to guess where drivers are heading…
Be careful. Zebra crossing doesn’t mean nothing here!
Even if I’ve almost crossed the street cars are driving in front of my nose.
Motorist use main streets as their runways and to show off.
They drive like mad and scare people to death.
In the afternoons guys near by school are having show offs and races.
No police, nothing to stop them.
Until somebody dies.
There are no traffic lights for pedestrians.
(They have them in the shopping street but do NOT trust that cars will stop even if you have green light!)
You have to guess when the light changes…
You have to be quick. Run!
Zebra crossing – doesn’t mean a thing!
2 dirhams per hour = 0.18 euro / 0.25 dollar
Snail mail / smail….
I guess this is only for small letters…
You see a lot of stray cats around Casa.
That’s good because there are also a lot of RATS !

‘women… ‘ was posted here 6.7.2010 – they were inside but these women…
oh, they stand outside and they rock! You agree?!
My advice to those who think they have to take off their clothes to be a
star is, once you’re boned, what’s left to create the illusion? Let em wonder.
I never believed in giving them too much of me.
- Mae West
Every woman is a rebel, and usually in wild revolt against herself.
- Oscar Wilde
For any woman to success in American life she must first do two things:
Prepare herself for a profession, and marry a man who wants her to succeed
as much as she does.
- Cathleen Douglas
Figure out who you are separate from your family, and the man or woman you’re in a relationship with. Find who you are in this world and what you need to feel good alone. I think that’s the most important thing in life.
Find a sense of self because with that, you can do anything else.
- Angelina Jolie
I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age.
The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

The other day I bought cherries…
Isn’t this scale cool?
Yes, he was wondering why I wanted to take pictures of his ‘tools’!
But he smiled…foreigners are strange!

A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving.
A good artist lets his intuition lead him wherever it wants.
- Lao-Tzu
Art is indeed not the bread but the wine of life.
- Jean Paul Richter
I can’t work without a model.
I won’t say I turn my back on nature ruthlessly in order to turn a study into a picture, arranging the colors, enlarging and simplifying;
but in the matter of form I am too afraid of departing from the possible and the true.
- Vincent Van Gogh
To speak of morals in art is to speak of legislature in sex.
Art is the sex of the imagination.
- George Jean Nathan
The artist does not see things as they are, but as he is.
- Alfred Tonnelle
The object of art is to give life a shape. [Midsummer Nights Dream]
- William Shakespeare
All art is an imitation of nature.
- Seneca
The age of a woman doesn’t mean a thing.
The best tunes are played on the oldest fiddles.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
More art later this week…

…here’s the first one
No, not a church…
This is a cafe! Want to sit outside…
Football is everywhere in this city right now…
Stone House cafe – traditional Moroccan cafe.
I’ve heard their pancakes/crepes are yummy with honey and butter!
How about bying a flat – here you are – for sale!
This house should be ready in the autumn…
What a surprise – European style kitchen! That’s cool!
This was the view from the balcony yesterday…
a grey, cloudy day but no rain…

Now I have all my summer clothes here but where’s the summer???
Not too cold but I miss the sun!!!

I made them crazy several times during our stay but we’re still friends,
I think?! hope so!
