In December we visited Cairo Opera House complex and there The Egyptian Modern Art Museum where you could not take photos but here’s the link to their web site where they have a lot of pictures of the art inside the museum.

I know I have Egyptian readers. Please help me:

Sorry if you’re new here and wanted something more sexier or naughty or ugly…
No, this is pure SH***** = = = > S H A R I N G!

Sharing is the main issue in social media. You give and you get.
This is interaction.
More and more bloggers and companies are marketing or selling stuff. Lots of bloggers have giveaways to get more traffic, audience – and perhaps they want to sell something too. That fine by me.
But I’m not selling anything. This is PURE sharing!

Pure sh***** part 1. and here is Pure sh***** part 2.
You noticed my Twitter account was hacked. If you need any kind of help or information about Twitter check this out:

Maf Raederscheidt was the first one who asked if I sent to her a weird DM. No I did not. Thank you Maf being so quick and helpful!
Maf is an ARTIST.

Her motto is: A Painting a Day keeps the Doctor away!

Maf writes about this painting:
“Every morning we get up, we grab our burden and start going. All the little duties that make our day are in these bags we have to carry. But you better keep your eyes open: all this will never cover the beauty that can be found around you.
Daily Painting about burden.”

This painting Maf made for Weiberfastnacht, Women’s Carnival Day dedicated to all brave women in the world.

This is pure sh***** part 2.
Here’s part 1.
Sorry if you’re new here and wanted something more sexier or naughty or ugly…
No, this is pure SH*****! = = = > S H A R I N G!
This is PURE BEAUTY!
and something very special…Enjoy!
The video is about 8 minutes but you do not see this kind of documentary every day, right?

Voices of Cairo is a short film intended to act as a
preview of Voices and Faces of the Adhan: Cairo
a feature length documentary film, audio archiving and multi-media installation project about the adhan, or call to prayer, in Cairo –
a 1,400 year old oral tradition that has never been documented or recorded for historical study.

Voices of Cairo from On Look Films on Vimeo.

Using the adhan as the vehicle, Voices and Faces of the Adhan: Cairo
provides opportunity to broaden the understanding of the Muslim world in a contemporary social context.
Voices and Faces of the Adhan: Cairo
seeks to preserve and record Cairo’s muezzins and the adhans they recite in their entirety for the first – and only – time in history.
It is the mission of ON LOOK FILMS, by engaging and inspiring the viewer to reach across cultural divides, to help preserve 1,400 years of human history and contribute to a more peaceful world.

I know what you were thinking…
But you’re wrong, sorry.
As we all know blogging is social media just like FB, Twitter etc.
This post is pure SHARING!
Sharing is the main issue in social media. You give and you get. It’s interaction.
More and more bloggers and companies are marketing or selling stuff.
Lots of bloggers have giveaways to get more traffic, audience – and perhaps they want to sell something too.
I’m not selling anything. This is PURE sharing!
I want to introduce to you VIKKI. Vikki who? Vikki is an ARTIST.
Is this badget familiar?
He’s Wink!
The story behind Wink:
“My name is ‘Wink‘. I tell bloggers, “Although we dearly appreciate this fine tribute and are SO flattered by the recognition, we don’t participate in those stinkin’ blog awards.”
Vikki writes on her blog:
“Originally I created this little sun logo for CBS Sunday Morning Television- but, he’s definitely taken on a life and purpose of his own. According to my visitor tracking, EVERDAY (since Sept. of 2008!) people come to my blog to get Wink. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would cause such a stir.”
If you have downloaded Vikki’s creation without saying a word to her, please leave her a comment! It’s polite to thank, right?!
Read more about VIKKI’s creation here.

You all know that I’m Finnish, (where the hell is Finland? here!) living at the moment in Cairo, Egypt, as expat. Or didn’t you know that? :)
May I introduce you two Finnish ladies, ARTISTS!
ELEGIA currently calling from London and ITKUPILLI surfing in LA,
share the obsession for collages and now they want to share that obsession with you!
“Every Monday we will post a new theme; a word and a picture.
You can use either one or both. Share your creation with us by leaving a comment with link to your artwork.
You can use any kind of style or materials. There is no limits, let your creativity flow!”

Their first challenge
is out
and

here’s one example what you can create – beautiful!
(if you know how to, I don’t!)

ELEGIA started her own shop…I like this badge!
I got permission to use all these badges from their owners!

Thank you! would be nice…

more art! lisää taidetta!

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
I visited an art exhibition in Sokos Hotel Aleksanteri (Helsinki).
I think it’s a good idea to show artist’s work in a hotel.

Vierailin Aleksanteri hotellin pienimuotoisessa taidenäyttelyssä.
Mielestäni on loistava idea esitellä taidetta hotellin tiloissa.

Maija Hopeavuori and her work “Black Cube”

Maija Hopeavuori ja hänen teoksensa “Musta kuutio”

This was my favorite…

Tämä oli minun suosikkini…

tattoos – art or not?… tatuoinnit – taidetta vai ei?..

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009
Couple of weeks ago GutsyWriter asked about people’s tattoos and couple of days ago Scriber wrote about tattoos and asked me to show mine.
Here they are – my tattoos, both over 10 yrs old…

this is on my back…it’s kind of an eye…
this wasn’t very easy to shoot…I used two mirrows!
tämä on selässä…ikään kuin silmä…ei ollut helppo kuvata kahden peilin avulla!

this tribal is on my shoulder…
tämä tribaali on olkavarressa…

Do you think tattoos are art or not?
Onko tatuoinnit teistä taidetta vai ei?

If you don’t think tattoos are art, maybe you like Johanna’s art?
Jos tatuoinnit eivät ole taidetta, niin ehkä Johannan työt ovat?
