Tässäpä tämä! Eikä ollutkaan ylivaikea?
It’s Friday – what’re you going to do at the weekend?
We’re staying at home, tomorrow some shopping.
My hubby has been in flu the whole week but now he’s almost ok.
I still swim in the mornings. Water is about +22. Not very warm but refreshing!
On perjantai – mitä suunnitelmia teillä on viikonlopuksi?
Me olemme muuten kotona mutta huomenna mennään ruokaostoksille.
Mieheni on ollut koko viikon räkätaudissa, nyt melkein kunnossa eli töihin taas sunnuntaina.
Minä uin vielä aamuisin. Vesi on noin +22 eli ei enää kesälämmin mutta virkistävää!

Here I am in Helsinki! I’ve been very busy but in a good way, no stress.
My mom cooked yummy lake trout – I love home made food!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009This is our main door. Here’re lots of these kinds of wrought iron doors and gates. Plus the stairway banisters are often made of wrought iron.
Tämä on meidän kotiovemme. Toisin kuin Suomessa tässä asunnossa tullaan suoraan olohuoneeseen. Tai sitä ei täällä kutsuta olohuoneeksi vaan ‘reception’iksi. Usein rappusten kaiteet on myos takorautaa. Se on suosittua myös porteissa, kynttelikköinä, hyllyinä jne.

Monday, July 27th, 2009Yesterday our gardener called me, “come, come, look!”
And what did I see? This mama cat didn’t have a better place to give birth to her 4 kittens than our garden!
But…we don’t want any stray cats to take our garden as their garden, they had to go.
Our gardener took the cat family outside to a better place to continue their family life…
Eilen puutarhuri huusi katsomaan jotain puutarhan nurkkaan. Ja mitä näinkään – tämä kulkukissaäiti ei löytänyt, tai ei ehtinyt etsiä!, parempaa paikkaa synnyttää 4 poikastaan kuin pihamme nurkka.
Mutta…koska emme halua kulkukissojen (joita on aika paljon mutta syovät hiiriä, olen nähnyt) valloittavan pihaa omakseen, vei puutarhuri kissaperheen parempaan paikkaan jatkamaan perhe-elämäänsä…

Friday, July 24th, 2009Couple of days ago Elegia asked me to show my sarongs…
Now it’s so hot that either I have to keep the AC on or no clothes on – sarong is almost no clothes on!
I have a fan blowing air around so no need for AC which is good because it’s not very comfortable when cold air is blowing on you back!
Muutama päivä sitten Elegia pyysi esittelemään vaatteen joka tuolloin oli päälläni – muuta ei ollut, eikä ole nytkään, kuin sarong!
Ilmastointi puhaltaa ilkeästi kylmää suoraan selkään mikä ei ole järkevää.
Olen siis puolialasti ja fani puhaltaa ilmaa tuulen lailla lempeästi!

I use a calendar (almanac) and a mobile calendar to remember birthdays, appointments etc.
I use a buzz to remember to empty the washing machine, not overcooking food etc. That way I don’t have to check the time all the time. I can concentrate on one thing at a time.
Now we have a small black board on our kitchen wall.
We painted it ourselves as you can see!
We write down things we have to do or a shopping list…
Minä tarvitsen erilaisia työkaluja muistamaan erilaisia asioita…
Käytän tavallista sekä kännykän kalenteria muistamaan synttärit, tapaamiset jne.
Kännykän häläreitä käytän muistuttamaan pesukoneen tyhjentämisestä, ruoka valmista jne.
Voin keskittyä kulloiseenkiin tehtävään rauhassa kun ei tarvitse katsoa kelloa koko ajan!
Nyt meillä on myös pieni liitutaulu keittiön seinällä. Maalasimme sen itse, kuten kuvasta näkyy! Kirjoitamme siihen tehtävät hommat tai kaupan ostoslistan…

Monday, July 13th, 2009I’ve told you that I have only coffee in the morning. I started a new habit when I came back from Helsinki…Here’s what I eat almost every morning (late morning)…
Olen kertonut teille juovani vain kahvia aamulla. Aloitin Helsingistä paluun jälkeen uuden tavan, syön terveellisen brunssin eli aamiaisen ja lounaan sekoituksen…
3 dl natural yoghurt, tsp jam, frozen rasberries & blueberries, rye bran, dried herbs…
3 dl luonnon jugurttia, tl hilloa, pakastevadelmia&-mustikoita, ruisleseitä, yrttejä…
mix…wait for 5 – 10 minutes…
sekoita…odota 5 -10 minuuttia…
and it’s ready to eat!
ja sössö on valmista syötäväksi!
ps. couple of hours after that I have an egg or something heavier…
ps. parin tunnin kuluttua tuosta syön jotain painavampaa kuten kananmunan tms.
