‘collage 100’

100 collage #1 by BLOGitse

At the end of the month we should have 100 square shape pictures in one collage
to celebrate Finland’s 100th independence day on 6 December 1917.

Here are a couple of details of that picture

playing with acrylics…

Friday, June 30th, 2017

This summer has been weird.

Some nice, sunny days and next hard wind,

rain…right now we have a storm in Southern Finland!

I played with acrylics this week.

These two are just quick strokes, whoosh, whoosh…

I had an eye control today. There’s still a tiny, tiny ‘drop’. Hopefully it goes away and

my sight will get totally sharp with time. No glasses needed but good light yes.

Next control is in August.

Some time ago I sketched this very quickly to remember what a saw –

so many bubbles around me…

weekend #22 – an artist from Kainuu

but first my entry for

I bought a painting (similar as below) from an artist who’s living and working in Kainuu.

From wikipedia:

Kainuu is a region
(maakunta / landskap) of Finland.
It borders the regions of Northern Ostrobothnia, North Karelia
and Northern Savonia. In the east it also borders Russia.
Kainuu is known in the ancient Norse sagas as Kvenland.

In Kainuu sunset is about 11 pm, rise about 3 am!!!

I’d love to learn how not to paint too full, block the whole canvas, to leave space,

Look Urho’s older works here,

this video is a combo of art – paintings and music!

weekend #21 – after eye surgery

Friday, May 22nd, 2015

Hi everyone!

I had a break last weekend because of an eye surgery.

5 days face down was quite hard but now it’s over!

Here’s an animated video to get the idea….

‘If the surgeon places an intraocular gas bubble in the eye

(to maintain retinal reattachment while the eye heals from surgery),

the patient will have to maintain a face-down position postoperatively.’

read more here

I still have that gas bubble but it’s getting smaller every day.

Only problem is to look straight down when the bubble

makes the vision unsharp. Painting, writing  etc. isn’t easy..

I shut that eye when I paint! 🙂

Here’s my abstract ‘one eye vision’ acrylic painting
