I visited CAC Málaga * Centro de Arte Contemporáneo
on the last day they had Vik Muniz‘s art there…
It was a very inspiring exhibition!
You find CAC Málaga in Calle Alemania
“Vicente José de Oliveira Muniz, known as Vik Muniz born 1961,
São Paulo, Brazil, is a visual artist living in New York City and Rio de Janeiro.
Muniz specializes in remaking famous artworks with materials other than paint, and then photographing them.”
Double Mona Lisa made of peanut butter and jelly, 1999
and here’s a detail of that huge work…
Got the idea what the work is about…
Now two detail first – of ripped magazines…
If you google Gustave Caillebotte you’ll find the model for this work…
I recognized original Richter’s work which I saw in Berlin….
Muniz’s work is done of those pieces of paper…

Sama päivämäärä on sielläkin huomioitu.

121212 on selvännäköisesti olemassa…

Love this art! So unique! Adore the world map detail, but I think my favourite must be the Mona Lisa peanut butter and jelly! So very clever!

I love this art… a different view on classic pieces… like looking at the world through someone else’s eyes.

I agree with Einstein. At least in theory. I need to live like that more often.

Oh my! Very interesting/cool indeed!
I wonder how he thought to use peanut butter and jelly – - – or old computer parts for that matter.
