What is art?

What is art?

Art stimulates different parts of our brains to make us laugh or incite us to riot, with a whole gamut of emotions in between. Art gives us a way to be creative and express ourselves. For some people, art is the entire reason they get out of bed in the morning. You could say “Art is something that makes us more thoughtful and well-rounded humans.”

“Art is form and content” means: All art consists of these two things.

    • “lingers in your mind” – that’s well said.
Most of the museums are too big to enjoy art with time. That’s why small galleries are great places to enjoy art in small portions without rush…

  2. I once read where André Malraux said that art was not so much an impression of something, but rather an expression of someone. That works for me. Good idea to ponder while starting off the new year!

I don’t make any resolutions anymore. I know what I should do. It’s simly motivation or discipline or both. 🙂

  3. The museum looks like an interesting structure. I like to think of art as a process, or a way of seeing, doing, or being. The object then becomes an artifact, or evidence.
